Our Dancers in the News
May 2010. College News. Birmingham Ballet Academy’s graduating seniors received college acceptances to a number of outstanding
colleges and universities. Michelle Luo has been accepted to Yale University, Princeton, and Harvard. Zack
Bencomo and Sarah Paul have been accepted to University of Alabama in
Tuscaloosa as dance majors. Sarah Paul has been accepted to Tulane University, Vanderbilt University,
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, University of Virginia, and was
offered a full merit scholarship to University of Alabama.
January 2010. ABT New York. Birmingham Ballet Academy students, Nicole Lou and Gina Maiola, received
acceptance to the prestigious American Ballet Theatre New York City Summer
Intensive. Acceptance into the New York intensive is an honor ABT reserves for only a
select group of top students chosen from nationwide auditions.
January 2010. Summer Intensive Acceptances. Birmingham Ballet Academy students triumphed at prominent summer intensive
auditions. So far this season, dancers have received the following acceptances:
Orlando Ballet - Jessie Dennis, Sarah Fleming, Olivia Jones, Nicole Luo, Gina Maiola. North Carolina School of the Arts - Jessie Dennis, Olivia Jones. American Ballet Theatre across the country- Grace Baker, Jessie Dennis, Sarah Fleming, Olivia Jones,
Nicole Luo, Gina Maiola, Hope Sorge. Metropolitan Ballet Theatre - Jessie Dennis, Oliva Jones.
