Birmingham Ballet Academy provides dance lessons for all ages. Our Academy offers quality dance classes in a welcoming atmosphere that inspires the pursuit of excellence along with supportive friendships and a healthy self-image. Careful personalized instruction and small classes are hallmarks of our award winning academy. Our graded level curriculum includes lessons in Pre-Ballet, Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, and Contemporary as well as many performance opportunities.

Junior Division, Ages 3 - 4: Our Junior Division features small class sizes for a personalized approach to learning. This allows us to nurture each child with individualized instruction in a learning environment that is both structured and fun. Children enjoy exploring movement and developing basic dance skills through a variety of creative exercises that build body awareness, dance skill, musicality, and group learning skills.

Elementary Division, 5k, 1st – 2nd Grades: Our careful approach to early training shapes developing young muscles and prepares a solid foundation for classical movement - the key to successful dancing! Students in our Elementary Division begin their study of classical ballet with an emphasis on alignment of the spine and correct use of muscles in the legs and feet. Students can add Jazz, Tap, and H.O.P.E Performance Team as elective classes.

Senior Division, 3rd grade and up: Birmingham Ballet Academy’s structured sequence of training will develop a child’s talent and guide your child towards success. Upper level students are trained using an accelerated curriculum that quickly brings marked improvement. Because of this, our dancers achieve high standards of achievement at an early age.
